Developing Next Generation Leaders

Educating and Attracting Young Talent

Millennials are spoiled, narcissistic and lack loyalty. These are three common perceptions about China’s youngest generation, 九零后, those born in the 1990’s. Not so, suggests BOLDMOVES China's recently released comprehensive study of over 900 respondents with over 120 participants in 5 Chinese cities.

We will utilize the ‘four generations in China’ framework to understand how the youngest generation is similar or different to older generations in the context of employee engagement. The research looks at the type of boss one hopes to work with and how employees see themselves when most satisfied at work. The research demonstrates there are some distinct characteristics that shape the behaviors and attitudes of these four generations as they work side by side in the workplace. Learn how to attract and retain young talent and recent graduates.

From the education perspective, we will learn how academic institutions in China are equipping the younger generation with the right skills for their transition to a future career. How can courses reflect the changing job market? How can schools incorporate an HR perspective into their curriculum design? What skills can young professionals and recent graduates sharpen that would make them more attractive to employers?

Please join the AmCham China Human Resources Forum and the Education Committee Peking University's Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) conference center for this exciting joint event! BiMBA has developed into a major training base for senior management personnel of not only domestic enterprises but also multinationals and the BiMBA Campus features a unique physical environment with characteristics of a royal garden.
